Study questions

  1. Read the paper by Romney et al. again. Under 'Conclusions: Methodological critique:' they state "The analytical tools used allowed us to interpret the information collected despite there being no formal control. Rather than control for underlying variability, the study attempted instead to record the variability and use this to explain results." Discuss what you think the authors mean. Do you agree with the authors' statement?

  2. Write an essay on different forms of farmer participation in agricultural research. You may use examples described in Case Study 1 and Case Study 10.

  3. Review the paper by Kamidi (2005) and write a referee's report.
